Choose the right degree route
Padua's international route is for applicants holding a qualification obtained abroad. Bachelor's entry requires an eligible school qualification; master's entry requires a suitable prior degree and curricular background.
Make a shortlist based on the course content, not only the university name. For a master's, compare your transcript subjects with the programme prerequisites. For a bachelor's, check school eligibility and any admission test before spending money on translations.

| Decision | Evidence to save |

| Teaching language | Language rule for the selected degree |
| Call eligibility | Intake, applicant category and submission deadline |
| Budget | Fee category, housing and unfunded arrival costs |
Admission: documents and submission
For English-taught programmes, Padua generally directs applicants to apply.unipd.it, with specific exceptions such as Medicine and Surgery. Italian-taught courses have their own procedures. Read the selected factsheet for the actual document list.
Prepare legible records, complete the required application fields and check payment/submission status. Treat a saved draft as unfinished until the portal confirms submission. Keep a copy of the call and your receipt so that later questions can be answered with evidence.
English proof: use the new admission list
Padua's current guidance requires at least B2 for English-taught degrees, with the course regulations also applying. Check the current certificate list and exemption PDF rather than relying on older MOI advice.
A Pakistani English-medium degree does not automatically satisfy the new exemption list. If you plan to use an alternative, confirm that your exact qualification meets the published exemption conditions. The detailed Italy English guide below compares certificate scores.
- Check certificate validity and the degree's required level.
- Keep the full test result, not just an overall-score screenshot.
- Do not confuse a later upload allowance with a waiver.
Fees: your category matters
The 2026–2027 fee page lists fixed contributions for extra-EU students whose household is not resident in Italy: €2,790 for Group A and €2,990 for Group B. It also lists specific reduced-country categories and mandatory first-year charges. These are not confirmed 2027–2028 prices.

| Question | Why it changes your budget |
|---|---|
| Which programme group? | Humanities and scientific groups have different contributions |
| Which residence/citizenship category? | A general income-based reduction may not apply to you |
| What does the waiver exclude? | Regional charges, stamps and living expenses can remain |
| Which academic year? | An older price is a planning reference, not a future bill |

Scholarships: distinguish merit from income-based support
The International Excellence page describes a competitive award of €8,000 gross per year plus a fee exemption, with regional charges and stamp duty remaining. It says further call information will be published in November 2026. Do not treat the historical award description as the complete new call.
Regional benefits use a different economic-assessment route. Make two separate tracker entries: one for the merit award and one for regional support. Before accepting overlapping awards, check compatibility, renewal and repayment terms in the actual notices.
Documents and budget after an offer
Keep academic-document recognition, economic evidence and visa evidence in separate folders. They answer different questions and can require different formats. Use the linked ISEE guide if regional financial support is part of your plan.
Ask for housing information early, compare deposits and cancellation terms and calculate the cash needed before the first confirmed benefit payment. A scholarship is not a substitute for a realistic arrival budget.
What to do next
Finish one programme record before adding another university to the shortlist. You should be able to explain academic fit, language evidence, application cost, funding route and the money still needed.
- Read the programme call.
- Check the current language list.
- Confirm the applicable fee category.
- Track new scholarship notices separately.
- After admission, follow the required pre-enrolment route.
