TR-YÖS exam guide: format, dates and university applications
TR-YÖS is an exam administered by ÖSYM for admission from abroad to higher education in Türkiye. A score is an application credential; it does not place you into every university automatically.
Take TR-YÖS only after checking whether your target universities accept the result and how they use it. Then apply separately to each institution. The 2026/2 exam was held on 11 October 2026; this page does not announce a 2027 date.
Next step: Create a university acceptance list before booking another exam attempt.

Latest reviewed session: 2026/2 has already taken place
ÖSYM’s session notice gave 9 July–3 August 2026 for regular applications and 11 October 2026 for the exam. The guide also listed separate late-application dates. These are historical session dates as of this page’s review, not an invitation to apply now.
Use the next named official guide for a future attempt. Record the session number as well as the year, because a university can specify which result sessions it accepts. A result arriving after a university deadline may be unusable for that intake.
The reviewed 2026 format has 80 questions across numerical aptitude and basic mathematics, with a 100-minute test duration. The session guide is the authority for format, languages, evaluation and permitted documents.
Original preparation method: begin with one timed diagnostic. Tag each error as a concept gap, misreading, arithmetic slip or time-pressure decision. Work on the most frequent cause, then repeat a timed set. Practising only untimed easy questions can hide the reason your score stalls.
Reserve full-test practice for a realistic time limit and answer-sheet process. Read the official marking rule before deciding when to guess; do not interpret a raw practice total as a guaranteed standardised score.
The 2026/2 guide grouped regular exam fees by where the candidate sat the test: TRY 3,700, TRY 1,650 or TRY 1,150. Pakistan, India and Indonesia appeared in the TRY 1,650 group. These are that session’s fees, not a new universal or future price.
Entering application information without paying on time does not complete registration. Match the guide’s payment procedure, currency handling and deadline to your test country. Keep the payment confirmation and completed form together.
A target university may also list SAT, ACT, IB, A-level or national qualifications. The accepted options and subject conditions are institution-specific. Choose the route that is valid for your programme and realistic within the deadline.
Original scenario: an applicant already has an accepted final diploma result for one university but needs TR-YÖS for a second. They should not assume the extra exam is compulsory for both applications. Create one requirements row per institution, then decide whether the additional attempt is worth the time.
Use your result in a university application
Record the result date, session, score/rank where relevant and the institution’s validity rule. Different institutions may apply thresholds differently; a percentile condition is not the same as a fixed score.
An exam result can expire or fall outside the sessions accepted in a call. Save the university requirement beside the score report so you can demonstrate the match. The score does not replace transcripts, programme choices or later registration documents.
