Start with the correct programme and applicant route
Pavia’s international-student entry point separates application guidance from fees/funding and after-admission tasks. Follow that structure. Do not choose a deadline from a general university article without opening the actual programme call.
The university’s post-offer page still provides named 2026/27 pre-enrolment dates. Those historical dates help explain the process, but they are not confirmed 2027/28 application dates. For a new intake, open the programme calendar and confirm your residence and visa category.

| Record | What it proves |
|---|---|
| Programme call | Who may apply, how and by when |
| Admission offer | Your academic evaluation and any remaining conditions |
| Funding notice | Whether an award or reduction applies to you |
| Pre-enrolment record | Completion of the relevant Universitaly stage |
| Final enrolment | The institution’s remaining administrative requirements |

Admission requirements: translate your background into evidence
For a master’s course, begin with subject preparation. Identify modules from your transcript that match the programme’s academic expectations and retain course descriptions where needed. If a programme requires a test or interview, prepare for the stated assessment rather than relying only on a general university requirement list.
For a bachelor’s or a single-cycle programme, check the accepted school qualification, education pathway and any selection requirement. A programme offered in English can still have academic entry criteria unrelated to the language test. Keep these checks in separate columns so that passing one is not mistaken for passing all.
- Qualification and subject background.
- Programme test, interview or selection route.
- Language evidence for that course.
- Required translations and final certificates.
- Applicant category and permitted application window.

Application fee: calculate per chosen programme
The prospective-student FAQ states €35 for bachelor’s and master’s applications and says payment is made for each chosen programme. It also describes a maximum of three choices per intake and says the application fee is not waivable or refundable. Check the programme call for the route you use before making a payment.
An application fee is different from tuition, a regional fee, a scholarship application or an accommodation deposit. Keep the payment receipt with the correct programme name. If a payment is attached to the wrong choice, contact admissions using the university’s published support route rather than paying repeatedly without checking.

Submit the academic application before assuming funding
Prepare a file set for the programme you actually want. Name documents clearly, open the final uploads and compare personal details across the form. If the university requests additional evidence, answer through the correct official channel and retain the exchange.
Track the call closing date and the expected evaluation instructions. For an incomplete degree, confirm whether provisional evidence is accepted and what must be supplied later. A conditional offer should become a list of actions with dates, not merely a PDF saved in a folder.
- 1Select the programme and read its current call.
- 2Prepare qualifications, transcript and accepted language evidence.
- 3Check tests, interviews and additional documents.
- 4Submit through the official university application route.
- 5Confirm the correct programme payment.
- 6Retain the receipt and monitor the application record.

Scholarships, fee reductions and EDiSU Pavia
Pavia’s financial-support page identifies EDiSU Pavia as its right-to-study agency. It is not EDISU Piemonte. A regional benefit, a tuition reduction and a programme-specific scholarship can each involve different eligibility evidence and applications.
Create a funding comparison containing the provider, named call, audience, covered costs and application method. If a waiver is described in a third-party article, check the current university notice before assuming that its number of places or renewal rule still applies. Do not treat an old engineering award as university-wide funding.
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare all columns.
| Funding type | What to verify |
|---|---|
| EDiSU Pavia benefits | Economic evidence, study conditions, housing and application deadline |
| University fee reduction or exemption | Your fee category and the required procedure |
| Programme-specific award | Exact course, intake and eligible applicant group |
| MAECI or external funding | A separate call and any compatibility restrictions |

Prepare a budget with a confirmed and a pending column
Use your actual fee assessment rather than a generic “Italy is free” figure. Add housing, food, transport, insurance, initial documentation and arrival expenses. A benefit delivered as a room or service should not be added to cash income at full value a second time.
Then test the timing. Which payments are due before an award result or grant payment? Which costs disappear if a particular waiver applies, and which remain? This simple cash-flow view helps you judge whether an otherwise attractive course is feasible while funding remains undecided.
After admission: follow Pavia’s pre-enrolment instructions
For relevant non-EU applicants abroad, Pavia directs students to Universitaly pre-enrolment and then the competent Italian diplomatic authority. The university explicitly distinguishes pre-enrolment from a guaranteed consular appointment or visa decision.
Its 2026/27 instructions connect different application windows to different pre-enrolment dates. That is why one broad university deadline is not enough. For your intake, list the offer condition, required qualification evidence, recognition document where requested, pre-enrolment task and final enrolment action separately.

Your final Pavia readiness check
Before committing to travel, be able to answer which programme accepted you, what conditions remain, what you owe, where you will live and which authority controls each remaining step. Keep academic documents and financial documents organised separately; they serve different decisions.

Count each programme application
The reviewed Pavia FAQ states EUR 35 per chosen programme, with up to three choices per intake. Compare the payment unit rather than assuming one fee covers all institutions' choices.
