DSU Italy deadlines by region: current status and next steps
Find the authority serving your university, then separate the original scholarship application from documents, housing, rankings and later corrections.
As checked on 28 October 2026, the main 2026/27 degree-student applications in the six examples below are closed. Some category-specific or later administrative steps can remain available. Those steps do not reopen a missed main application, and unannounced 2027/28 dates are not confirmed deadlines.
Next step: Locate your university’s authority and your student category, then follow the current official notice and amendments.

Main application status by authority

An amendment can replace the original headline date
DiSCo’s official indexed deadline notices record an extension to 23 July 2026 at 20:00. Older summaries still show the original 22 July deadline. Use the latest applicable official amendment rather than copying the first announcement.
Open the authority’s call and amendment directory and retain the latest applicable notice with your application record. Check whether an amendment changes your category, submission step or evidence deadline before relying on it.
DSU Toscana’s foreign-student instructions distinguish degree applicants from doctorate/specialisation applicants. The latter category has a stated 16 November 2026, 13:00 deadline. Do not present that as a new bachelor’s or master’s window.

Do not confuse an open later step with a new benefit application

DSU is a broad right-to-study framework, not one national form with one deadline. Start on your university’s official benefits page and identify the responsible regional body or institution. Match the campus as well as the university name.
For example, Bologna directs students into ER.GO procedures; institutions in Piedmont can use EDISU Piemonte. Lazio, Tuscany, Milan and Padua have their own published routes. Confirm institutional coverage in the current notice before preparing financial documents.
If you already submitted: work from your receipt
Save the submitted form, application reference and time. Log in through the official portal to check whether the request is complete, suspended, provisionally assessed or awaiting a further action. Those labels need to be interpreted under the actual notice.
1Find the submitted application and latest official communication.
2Record every remaining evidence or confirmation date separately.
3Check the required foreign-income/asset reference year and document route.
4Read accommodation and ranking instructions for your category.
5Keep proof of uploads, corrections and any accepted extension.
If you missed the main application
Check whether the authority has expressly published a late route or an extension covering your category. If not, do not assume that an active login page or later document date lets you apply. Ask the benefits office a precise question and retain its official answer.
Compare university fee reductions, other verified awards and a budget without an unconfirmed grant. A closed DSU competition does not itself mean admission is closed. It does mean the expected benefit should not be counted as confirmed income.
Prepare for the next call without inventing its date
The reviewed evidence does not establish one confirmed 2027/28 DSU calendar. Previous dates can help organise preparation, but they must be labelled historical rather than announced. Watch the authority’s official call page and the university benefits office.
Prepare a document inventory: household composition, income and assets, qualification/enrolment details and any translation or legalisation requested by the future notice. The required reference years can change, so do not order a full set based only on an old checklist.
