Zhejiang University: reviewed intake status
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare all columns.
| Route / question | Current evidence | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| General master’s guide | 2026 intake guide reviewed | Use as preparation background, not an open 2027 call |
| Zhejiang Government Scholarship | Reviewed ZJU page identifies 2026 postgraduate students | Check the next dated award notice |
| Other programmes | A specific programme can have a separate notice | Do not extrapolate one opening to the whole university |
Begin with the correct degree catalogue
Choose bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral admission before reading scholarship details. Then identify the programme’s teaching language, department and campus. Requirements for one institute or joint programme do not automatically apply to other Zhejiang University degrees.
Make a comparison sheet with prerequisite qualification, subject background, language evidence, programme length and funding eligibility. If a programme excludes a particular scholarship or has an earlier deadline, that exception belongs in your shortlist. Do not choose a degree solely because a general scholarship page mentions the university.
Distinguish university admission from provincial funding
Zhejiang Government Scholarship is a provincial funding label. It should not be treated as the name of every award available at Zhejiang University. CSC and institution- or programme-specific awards have separate eligibility and application instructions.
For each route, record what it pays, whether it is one-year or renewable, and whether another form is required. Avoid describing a tuition reduction as a complete living allowance. If the next call has not been published, leave the future amount and deadline unconfirmed rather than copying the previous year’s table.
Prepare research fit before seeking supervisor acceptance
For a research programme, identify a supervisor whose current work relates to your question. Read recent project descriptions and explain the connection in your own words. Ask whether the department requires a provisional acceptance form and which format applies.
An expression of interest is not automatically an admission offer. Keep correspondence factual: intended degree, academic preparation, relevant work and a concise proposed question. Do not send a mass email claiming expertise in unrelated fields. A specific, feasible proposal makes it easier for a supervisor to assess fit.
Language evidence belongs to the exact programme
Check the current guide for the selected teaching language and any department-specific exceptions. English-taught and Chinese-taught routes can require different proof. A medium-of-instruction letter should be used only when the relevant instructions accept it.
If you are waiting for a test result, ask whether the programme permits a later upload and what deadline applies. Do not interpret a portal’s optional upload field as an official waiver. Record the test name, score requirement, validity period and evidence source in your application tracker.
Build the application pack while awaiting a new call
Collect complete transcripts and degree evidence, including the grading scale. Draft a CV that makes research and project contributions easy to understand. Prepare a study plan that fits the programme, then request references from people who can discuss your academic work.

Use a new-cycle comparison before submitting
When the next general guide is published, compare it with your preparation sheet. Recheck dates, fees, portal instructions, documents and programme exclusions. A previously eligible programme can change its conditions. Use the current university application system linked from the admissions website.
If the university has published a targeted scheme before its general guide, apply only if that scheme fits your degree and category. A special youth or institute programme is not a general opening announcement. Keep evidence of the precise notice you followed.
Decide whether the funding plan is viable
Compare the final offer with your real expenses. Include travel, document preparation, insurance if uncovered, accommodation deposits and the time before any award payment. If the award is reviewed annually, understand the academic conditions for continuation.
Zhejiang can be one option in a balanced China shortlist. Compare its programme fit and funding certainty with Xiamen, Jiangsu or Shandong rather than assuming the most recognisable name must be the best choice.
