Start with the programme, not a scholarship headline

Choose the official degree and teaching language. Read its entry qualification, subject preparation and selection process. A programme can have specific instructions beyond the university’s general international-student guidance.

Keep the current call with your shortlist. If a master’s programme assesses previous coursework, prepare transcripts and course descriptions in the required form. If you are completing a degree, ask when the final certificate is due rather than assuming a provisional transcript is sufficient until arrival.

International enrolment and Universitaly

The university’s international enrolment page distinguishes administrative steps, including Universitaly pre-enrolment for non-EU citizens who require a visa. Use the university’s current instructions to determine what follows academic admission.

Keep academic acceptance, Universitaly validation, visa assessment and final enrolment as separate statuses. If a programme offers a place subject to document checks, those checks must still be completed. Do not use another applicant’s portal sequence as proof that your category follows the same route.

DSU Toscana: what the Pisa page actually confirms

Pisa identifies DSU Toscana as the regional scholarship route and publishes a dedicated page describing the benefit and requirements. Its 2026/27 deadline was 7 September 2026 at 13:00 and is past. A later admissions task does not reopen that competition.

For a future call, obtain the new application dates and financial-document instructions directly. The Pisa page also notes that overlapping financial benefits can require choosing which award to receive. Do not add two full benefits together without checking their compatibility.

On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare all columns.

Tuition reductions and ISEE-based evidence

Read the tuition rules for the relevant academic year and your applicant situation. A scholarship, an ISEE-based reduction and an exemption can affect fees differently. Keep the submission deadline and documents for each benefit separate.

Pisa’s published fee guidance includes special timing for international students requiring a visa in 2026/27. That is a profile-specific rule, not a deadline for every student or a future intake. Use the official page to check whether it applies to you before choosing a payment date.

Prepare documents for two assessments

For the academic file, match transcripts, qualification evidence and language documents to the programme instructions. For DSU, follow the household, income and asset evidence requirements in the regional call. A certificate can serve different purposes only if both authorities accept it.

Name files clearly using a document type and applicant name; keep the original beside the translation. Before submission, inspect whether every page and stamp is visible. Record any separate original-document delivery obligation so it is not forgotten after the online upload.

A realistic Pisa arrival plan

Obtain accommodation information early but do not treat a DSU housing request as a room allocation. Estimate temporary accommodation if a confirmed place is not available by your travel date. Include deposits and initial purchases separately from monthly living costs.

Use the Italy study-cost tool with your own figures. For a scholarship still under assessment, keep its value outside the confirmed-funding total. This makes the comparison with Florence or Siena useful rather than optimistic.
