Pakistan academic-document attestation: HEC, IBCC and destination checks
Choose the relevant Pakistani academic-document authority and build a destination-specific attestation checklist before ordering services or translations.
Start with the receiving university or authority’s exact document request. School/board qualifications and university qualifications follow different authentication routes; further MOFA/apostille or destination steps depend on the document and receiving authority.
Next step: Identify the qualification level, requested document and destination rule, then check the relevant official authority before paying.

Choose by document level and purpose
HEC’s degree-attestation page now describes an online paperless process: application, HEC scrutiny, university verification and an e-Attestation Certificate. Use that current main process page rather than assuming older courier/appointment instructions still control every case. The page also says foreign-awarded degrees are not themselves attested by HEC; HEC equivalence letters use their own route.
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare all columns.

IBCC’s published requirements distinguish document categories. For SSC/HSSC and board-issued documents, they call for verification by the issuing board before IBCC submission and describe appointment, courier and express options. Use the relevant category on the current IBCC page; a school-leaving certificate checklist is not automatically the SSC/HSSC checklist.
For your personal file, record the certificate and marks sheet separately. Ask whether the receiver needs both, whether a copy is acceptable and whether an online verification can be checked. Do not assume that a certificate and a transcript are interchangeable simply because both show the same qualification.
MOFA/apostille and destination acceptance are separate decisions
MOFA’s educational-document checklist identifies HEC authentication for university degrees and IBCC countersignature for school/board certificates. That preparation step does not by itself establish what a foreign university, consulate or recognition service will accept. Obtain the destination-specific instruction and verify the applicable further route.
Write down the receiving office, purpose and exact wording of its request. Admission, a scholarship, regional financial aid and a visa can request different evidence. Where two offices ask for different formats, keep separate tasks rather than ordering a single “complete package” on an agent’s assurance.
Use one row per document, not one row called “attestation”. Record the authority, requested format, status, payment/reference number and the receiving office’s acceptance instruction. Keep sensitive scans in your own secure storage; the downloadable worksheet is blank and should not be sent to AspireCompass.
Check spelling, qualification title, awarding institution and dates against the original records before applying. If records conflict, ask the issuing authority how to correct them. A translation or attestation does not repair an incorrect original academic record.
Before paying for a service
The total cost can depend on the number of documents, authority, service mode, translation and delivery. This guide does not quote a universal package price or processing time. Confirm the current amount and process on the relevant official service, including how the receiving office verifies a digital certificate.
